Lara Bazelon’s “Proof” Kamala Locked Poor Black Mothers Up on Truancy Charges Was a Troll’s Medium Post (Now Removed)

We’ve all heard the one about how Kamala Harris locked up poor Black mothers on truancy charges when their kids played hooky, right? Over and over people repeat accusations ripped from the narrative written by Lara Bazelon. Through gnashed teeth they lament the imprisonment of an untold number of desperate Black Matriarchs, but they never bother to investigate whether Kamala Harris ever locked ANY of the mothers up for truancy before they rend their garments. People imagine (I know because I asked) unruly teenage boys being rebellious, while their poor mothers suffer the consequences of her man-sized boy’s actions. None of this is the truth, people simply believe it must be true, for how else would it end up in the New York Times?

Ms. Harris also championed state legislation under which parents whose children were found to be habitually truant in elementary school could be prosecuted, despite concerns that it would disproportionately affect low-income people of color.

That one sentence is the sum total of Bazelon’s critique on Harris’s truancy program. This is a program that had been tried out in San Francisco, with much success, and in all the years since its implementation, her only evidence that this law was being used in a manner that harmed the parents of Black and Brown youth disproportionately is a medium article that we cannot read because the author has been found in violation of Medium’s rules.

I can clearly see why Medium was forced to remove the post. The title alone demonstrates how full of shit the author was. Does “Kamala Harris’s Career as AG Was Built on Truancy and the Separation of Black Children and Families” sound nuanced and reality based to you? Of course not. Bazelon, a former Dean of an entire Law School, got her info from “Politics Peach“, a woman (I don’t if she’s even a person.) who wrote delightful screeds about Kamala Harris, and Democrats, like the one entitled, “It’s a Shame That Rachel Dolezal is Blacker Than Kamala Harris” and this rare gem, “Democrats Fight for Free Stuff for Undocumented Immigrants, But Not US Citizens.” Who in their right mind sees the title and doesn’t check out her other articles to see if this bish is a Russian troll? Nah, I ain’t joking, cause she legit seems like a Russian troll.

See for yourself.

Let’s take a look at a snip of that last article I mentioned, the one about immigrants, shall we?

What is even more shameful is that democrats have bought into democrats fear mongering of Trump (???) and that beating Trump is the only thing that matters in 2020 (Bish, it IS.). However beating Trump should be the last thing that black people care about. (Bish, what?) We have had Trumps for president the entire history of this country (So?) and that includes Obama. (Bish, please.) The only difference is that with Trump you can see and hear him coming, but with all others they quietly destroy and attack. (Uh huh. Keep telling yourself that.)

We can go ahead and dismiss Peach RIGHT NOW, because if she isn’t a foreign asset yet, she damn well should be, since she’s doing all the work for free. Why sell out your own country (If this is, in fact, even your country.) for absolutely no payment when you can get Vladdy Daddy to pay you some rubles to write that all fired catshit you call an article? Never give it away for free, damn.

“Peach” has written a number of angry, inappropriate, and remarkably Russian-y troll pieces on Black Culture, and Politics for the past year and a half AT LEAST. Her comments section is a haven for borderline antisemites, and anti-black racists, she reps ADOS, spouts RW talking points, attacks Dems at every turn, and has a sick obsession with Kamala Harris’s race. She also has a hyperfocus on Harris and Doug Emhoff’s relationship that veers super close to “pet rabbits in boiling pots” territory. This is not a person that anyone with any level of credibility should ever use as a source of information, unless they are not seeking anything resembling facts, truth, or reality. Every article you find on her page has a sibling that looks almost like its twin residing on a right wing blog somewhere. This only took me 7 minutes to figure out exactly what type of “Bernie to Trump” troll Peach is, so why are”super informed” progressives like Bazelon taking the word of some random account on Medium? Isn’t this how we lost in 2016? Weren’t the same group, white progressives, the ones who were targeted by foreign ops and fell for the okie doke last time? YES.

On to the truancy law; since time is of the essence, I will not do a complete take-down of the NYT OPINION piece written by Bazelon or of the Peeples case that I have already debunked, I will instead save the full and complete takedown for another day. It was just imperative that people got the chance to see what a flimsy, bot farm inspired, borscht and vodka scented foundation the case against Kamala Harris rests on.

Some time ago, I wrote a piece that nobody bothered to read (READ IT.) that attempted to debunk the misbegotten notion that Kamala Harris was jet setting around the state of California locking up Black mothers of “kids who played hooky.” I thought we had been mostly successful in refuting that bullshit claim last year, in spite of the Bazelon inspired articles written about her truancy program getting quite a few things wrong. I’m a year older and wiser now, so I realize that insidious smears like this one must be refuted over and over again, until they die, then must be set on fire, burned to ash, and buried deep in an undisclosed location. Rather than take you back through the one case anyone could find where a Black Mother faced truancy charges from this law, I’ll just let you go back and read what I wrote before, and instead just discuss the fact check.

During a Feb. 11 appearance on the radio show “The Breakfast Club,” Sen. Kamala Harris denied that she ever jailed anybody under an anti-truancy program she initiated as district attorney of San Francisco.

“We never locked anybody up,” the California Democrat said.

Verdict: True

No parents were incarcerated for child truancy in San Francisco during Harris’ tenure as district attorney. She did, however, strongly support the passage of a statewide truancy law that prosecutors in California have used to charge parents. At least one mother has been sent to prison under the law.

As for that one mother who was sentenced by a judge, not by Kamala Harris, to 180 days in jail? Let’s take a look…

She is not Black, Ms. Bazelon.

So why did Kamala Harris push this law that seems to have locked up ONE white mother, from a rural county, (who REFUSED to send her kids to school, because she did not want to) in the past decade? Was Kamala Harris specifically targeting Lorraine Cuevas? Lol, no.

Let Kamala Harris tell you herself:

When Michael was in kindergarten, he missed more than 80 days of school. He was not ill and no one from Michael’s family ever called to say why he was not attending school.

When I was elected district attorney, I learned that 5,500 students in San Francisco were habitually truant and – shockingly – 44 percent of the truant students were in elementary school. That is when I partnered with the San Francisco Unified School District to combat school truancy. At the time, many asked why the city’s chief prosecutor was concerned with the problem of school attendance. The answer was simple, and as our partnership now enters its fourth year, the reason remains the same: a child going without an education is tantamount to a crime.

Despite his young age, Michael’s truancy makes him far more likely to be arrested or fall victim to a crime later in life. In San Francisco, over 94 percent of all homicide victims under the age of 25 are high school dropouts. Statewide, two-thirds of prison inmates are high school dropouts.

Kamala Harris didn’t want the cycle of Truancy, Drop-Out, and Death to continue, so she made a decision to DO something about it. When only 25% of Black boys in the State of California can read at or above grade level, we are already deep in crisis as a demographic, and the best way to save our sons is to ensure they attend school regularly. The hyperfocus on the idea that Harris was actually running around locking up poor Black mothers all over the state is absolutely ridiculous. The only thing more ridiculous is the fact that soooo many people believe it. Kamala Harris did not lock up any Black Mothers for truancy as DA, or as AG; I have asked many a fervent believer in this myth to please list off the names of the women Harris had imprisoned for their child’s truancy. Not ONE person has ever been forthcoming with a list of names, a list of facts, or even a list of Blue’s Clues. So, clearly, this entire thing was bullshit meant to derail Harris from the start. Never believe anything anyone says if their only supporting evidence is a medium post by an anonymous ADOS troll.

Take care, until next time.

25 Thing You Need To Know About Kamala Harris That The Media Won’t Tell You, Because They Can Only See Liz Warren

You may not know Kamala Harris is in the running to become the next VP of the United States if you rely on media of a Caucasian Persuasion, but never fear, Dear Hearts, I am as Blackkety Black as they come. I will give you many facts. Why is there a media Black-out on Kamala Harris? Because, the media wants Liz Warren. It was quite apparent to anyone who actually gave a shit that there was quite a bit of erasure of Kamala Harris in the media when she was running for President, especially when it came to the excellent work she had done over the years. When Laura Bazelon published her stupid op-ed last year, she completely misrepresented most of the complaints she had about Kamala, to the point where it now seems like it was personal. And, let me keep it real, everyone who used that article as source material, knowing it was opinion, yet presented that bullshit as fact, is going to hell. Just kidding, we don’t want your kind in our nice warm hell.

Time and time again, as I reread it recently, I noticed that her op-ed interpreted every move or non-move Harris made in a comically villainous manner. Every single inmate highlighted was “obviously” innocent, rulings made by judges in Harris’ favor were only made because Harris didn’t respect the secret silent signal rules that every lawyer secretly follows. Like that case where a death row inmate, who had several DNA tests and a blood test done prior that Bazelon glossed over, could surely be killed by State Murder (that is not going on because California suspended the Death Penalty), yet would be PROVEN innocent if they did a new new new DNA test that was super expensive, and who knows? Maybe he would. Or maybe he’s saying he was framed by the cops? The case is getting more attention, as we wait on the latest set of results. We know all of this; in a career spanning nearly 30 years, Bazelon managed to highlight about 20 or so times Harris either could have decided the other way, wasn’t aware of something, was indecisive, or wasn’t seeing the forest for the trees. In 30 years, this is a very good record. I mean, I make like 10 mistakes per day, so, if you went back a day, you can find as many mistakes in some work I got into in these two days, as Bazelon found in Harris’ whole career. Yes, my mistakes are smaller; nobody is dumb enough to trust me with any type of power.

One thing I keep wondering is: why it is that nobody knows anything GOOD about Kamala Harris, something besides the hyped up and dramatized acts of the Kamala caricature that has been manufactured by the leftist media? I have come to a conclusion; nobody reads books. Kamala Harris tends to read books, so it seems to me, she expects that others read books too. I won’t list off her own books, but suffice to say if you want to know more about her, you might want to start with the memoir she wrote right before she began her run for president.

I created a list of facts about, and accomplishments of Kamala Harris, and I will compile another set of beautiful facts for you whenever I get around to it.

Kamala Harris locked up Child Molesters, and I am fucking proud of her

This entire piece is a trigger. Trigger warning in effect as of now.

I deleted most of what I had written earlier. The tone was a bit too lighthearted and snarky, and snark, while a powerful tool, can seem crass and gauche when it doesn’t do the subject matter any justice. I had comedic diatribes and slightly clever barbs aimed at those I felt weren’t giving Kamala a fair chance, giving Kamala a break, or were holding Kamala to unfair standards.

But this isn’t about Kamala, is it? It’s about us.

It seems lately that everybody has it in for Kamala Harris, and we who support her, by the very nature of that support, suffer with her, step for step. It’s hard to believe in much right now with the state of national politics being what it is, and with the unworthy attacks constantly being made upon our candidate, our politics, and even ourselves. Fairness, integrity, and even hope, at times, seem beyond belief. I don’t believe much, I’m a skeptic. What I do believe about Kamala, beyond all of the cases she has been attacked for, past all of the rachet headlines forecasting the demise of her campaign; I do believe one thing.

I believe she is here for us, for the People.

So before that gentle and good night falls upon us, before the platinum daggers of belated billionaires cut the heart out of her campaign, and also from our own meager chests, I have a need to write. I feel that it is imperative that I at least show you a bit of her side of the story. Know that I haven’t spoken with her, I am not with her campaign, related to her, or even a friend. What I am, like many of us who chose a “cop” from Oakland to represent us–what I am is a Survivor.

I have been that child. WE have been that child. We saw her record. We see what she did. Yet, rather than letting our hindsight eyes to get stuck on a few mistakes, we chose to glide our eyes beyond what everyone says she did wrong; we searched instead for what she did RIGHT.

Kamala Harris locked up Child Molesters, and I am fucking proud of her.

From 1989 to 1998 Kamala Harris spent her time working her way up from the basement working DUI cases, to being the well known prosecutor who was a child sex predator’s worst nightmare. Wrapped up in a professionally polished package, Kamala has the heart of a lioness and a soul that burns for justice, especially when it comes to our pride and joy, our future leaders and innovators, the most vulnerable, our precious children.

There was a time when everyone knew that about Kamala Harris; she was known far and wide for her ferocity when it came to those who hurt children.

LA Times said this in 2004:

In August, her office made local history by winning a conviction against a 21-year-old man who was sentenced to three years in state prison for pimping a 14-year-old girl. For the first time in San Francisco, a press release crowed, the pimp was charged with statutory rape and child molestation. “Today we have removed a predator from our streets,” Harris declared

Kamala Harris was known by all, not only for teaching advocacy skills at Stanford and University of San Francisco, or even for days when she dated the talk show host, Montel Williams. It wasn’t even her time spent “dancing with super six; Midnight Magic.”–her dance troupe from high school that got the public’s attention.

It was her fight against sexual predators that made her name.

Nowadays, word on the street is nobody even knows Kamala Harris. Where a few months ago we had people claiming to know her completely, even her intentions and motivations, which, of course, were bad bad bad, now suddenly, no one knows a thing about her… What they do know is that she spent her WHOLE CAREER locking up Black men for mysterious minor crimes. They know she was a “cop.” Well, what they know is absolute bullshit. Kamala Harris spent 9 years working as a Prosecutor in the Sex Crimes Unit in the Alameda County DA’s office. Her specialty? Sex crimes involving children.

LA Times:

“It’s a sea change in terms of how this issue has been dealt with through the ages,” said San Francisco Dist. Atty. Kamala Harris, who pushed aggressively for the bill, as well as for the city’s first safe house for underage prostitutes, scheduled to open next year.

“It’s finally in black and white, legislated, that adults cannot buy children for sex.”

Some will say it is not a big deal to win a fight to have this most basic value enshrined in law. Undoubtedly they will tell you that her mistakes cannot be measured against the good she has done. Maybe they’ll even say that the good cannot even be discussed. That it is a distraction, a red herring, or even a cop out. They’ll be entirely wrong.

“It’s finally in black and white, legislated, that adults cannot buy children for sex.”

I cried the first time I read that line.

Harris had seen the effects up close as a deputy district attorney prosecuting sex abuse cases in Alameda County. Once, she set out to search for a young girl who had been sexually assaulted, and found her for sale on San Francisco’s streets. On one side of the bay, the girl was a victim, abused at home, who could not legally consent to sexual activity. On the other, she was entering the justice system as a perpetrator.

What else can a woman do when a teenage girl, abused at home, violated in the most tangible of ways runs away? She’d look for her, right? Like many who deal with “at risk” youth, Kamala Harris has spent her share of time tracking down a lost soul.

I can imagine her nights spent looking for missing girls as clearly as I see in my memory the mothers who would come to Sunset Blvd looking for “Becca” or “Stephanie” or ” Heather” among the painted faces, bewigged heads, and plastic accoutrements we wore in those dim, mirrored salons of the various “Gentlemen’s Clubs” that nestled nervously among the edifices along the Boulevard.

Just as they were told to check with the “strong women” strutting down Sunset in the moonlight on their way to Denny’s, so too was she likely bid to check with the “working girls” and if not them, try the pimps. It’s a cold world out there y’all. Knowing Kamala, she, like me, likely knew one or two pimps from run ins on previous occasions. Hopefully she, unlike me, didn’t know them from that time she ended up slapboxing with a pimp in the middle of the street on Wilshire over a girl he tried to “recruit.” Chicago, ha! Haven’t thought about him in years.

From “The Truths We Hold”:

I’d be given a briefcase on a Friday afternoon containing a pager (high-tech for the early nineties), a pen … Eventually, I moved into a unit that focused on prosecuting sex crimes—putting rapists and child molesters behind bars.

It was difficult, distressing, and deeply important work.

Oh, Kamala doesn’t talk much about her courtroom battles. I doubt you would either if you were dealing with 5 or 6 year old children who had been raped by their own brother, or 14 year olds who were gangraped by degenerates that pretended to befriend a vulnerable young girl. Perhaps her reticence has less to do with being guilty of some nefarious deeds or purposeful rather than non-prescient errors in a handful of cases due to a lack of foresight and possibly misinformed beliefs.

Maybe she doesn’t talk about it much because that shit is hard as fuck for YOU to hear. She was there. The pain you feel the first time you hear of a child being destroyed by predators is so palpable you can feel yourself folding into yourself. Or, perhaps that’s just me. Perhaps she wants to spare you that.

Also from The Truths We Hold:

Imagine that, Harris is a human, after all. And so too are we, the “victims” as human as the men “Kamala the Cop” locked away. She is on our side, the side of the vulnerable children, she, as always, sides with The People. I have no ability to count up or even find out about all of the cases that Kamala worked to be able to tell you how many of these perverts she locked away. I am sure that’s not a count she keeps either. The count that eternally gnaws at her soul is likely the number of predators she COULDN’T lock away, those who got away with it, and who still had access to their victims.

Nevertheless, she did not only work sex crimes against children. She worked homicides, rape of women and men, drug cases at times, and even violent crimes, like “scalping.”

A Fremont man who scalped his girlfriend down to the skull with a Ginsu-style steak knife was sentenced yesterday in Alameda County Superior Court to life in prison plus five years.

The bloody attack, which came after numerous threats and a previous attempt foiled by a dull knife, was the first scalping case in the court’s history.

Frankie Vanloock, 33, was convicted August 30 of aggravated mayhem and torture for scalping Monica Meyer-Harnisch, 35, and of misdemeanor assault for the earlier attack.

Judge Alfred Delucchi added five years to the life sentence because Vanloock used a deadly weapon and caused great bodily injury. The defendant will be eligible for parole in 12 years.

Here is what Kamala said:

“It’s appropriate for what he did,” prosecutor Kamala Harris said after the sentencing. “The manner in which this crime was committed was incredibly sadistic.”

Ya think?

Defense lawyer Walter Cannady filed an appeal after the sentence was handed down. He admitted Vanloock “screwed up,” but said the crime was drug- and alcohol-induced.

They were both druggies and alcoholics,” he said. “I believe he committed a battery, but I don’t believe he had the specific intent to maim or torture.

Excuse me, what the fuck do you think scalping is, muthafucker? (Torture and maiming) Just normal shit druggies and alcoholics do? What the bleeding fuck is wrong with you? Fuck you and fuck no, you fcuking idiot. He is using the word “they” like she has to share some of the blame for the maiming because she got high with her boyfriend. That is fucked up.

The sliced section of scalp could not be reattached. Meyer- Harnisch has since undergone surgery three times and is in therapy because of psychological trauma.

So, this is just a small taste of the sadistic and violent acts Kamala bore witness to through the eyes of the victims in her fights to bring justice to the people. The People aren’t  just The State, The Wealthy, or the Powerful–The People are also the 6 year old Molestation Victim, The Domestic Abuse Survivor, The Devastated Family, and as quiet as it’s kept?

The People are YOU.

There are a lot of Very Important White People (Checkmark Twitter) who have been doing the “Kamala is a cop” idiocy for the past week, mainly due to the timing of Kamala releasing her Mental Health Plan outline coinciding with Elizabeth Warren’s unfortunate decline in the polls. Sure, it may not seem normal that people would lash out at Harris and read things into her plans they do not say, just because of Liz’s misfortunes. Nevertheless I watched it happen myself, and have experienced their wrath firsthand. I sashay away…

Kamala doesn’t tell much of her own story, though much of what I have written here was gleaned from her last book, of which I have a copy on my desk. The rest had to be snatched bit by bit from the mouths of others, but it is real, and it is true, and it tells you who she is.

So, for those who forgot, this is your reminder.

Kamala locked up child molesters, and I thank her for that.
