Joe Biden Can’t Stop Saying Racisms, and That’s a Problem
Y’all. Biden has gone and done it again.
No, he didn’t get another “blood eye” during the debate, that would be shrugged off like Bernie’s puce-colored visage and Liz’s non-answers. They pretty much get passes on everything, so it’s highly unlikely “blood eye 2.0” would have caused much consternation. What he is doing goes beyond the pale, it’s highly inappropriate, and it’s seriously humiliating.
Joe is doing his “White Savior Blaxploitation Storytime Theater” bullshit again, and I am a bit irritated. To say the least.
Biden, much like Bernie, conflates “Black” and “Poor” regularly, and stereotypically waxes nostalgic about his super fucked-up belief that Black Mothers don’t speak to our babies. Like ever. This would be fine if, like most geriatric orators fond of telling “fish stories” he was in Florida somewhere annoying a retirement community. Instead, he is in front of every TV news camera giving all types of speeches to crowds filled with black faces. Again, this would be fine, if he was not saying some of the most outdated, racist clap-trap we have ever heard from a Democrat this century.
Since he also believes it’s his job to spread awareness of how little we supposedly interact with our children, he always looks for inappropriate times to bring it up. It is very important to discuss it when discussing school quality, obviously, but most importantly, this needs to be discussed whenever slavery or reparations is the topic.
Reparations must never be discussed.
From The Nation:
DAVIS: In a conversation about how to deal with segregation in schools back in 1975, you told a reporter, “I don’t feel responsible for the sins of my father and grandfather, I feel responsible for what the situation is today, for the sins of my own generation, and I’ll be damned if I feel responsible to pay for what happened 300 years ago.” You said that some 40 years ago. But as you stand here tonight, what responsibility do you think that Americans need to take to repair the legacy of slavery in our country?
Funny that, Joe. Black people are still paying for the fact that white people held us in bondage 300 years ago. Besides and it had only been around 110 years (I didn’t count) before I wrote this post.
If she was attempting to get Joe to admit he has ever done anything wrong, she is shit out of luck, I knew that before she finished her question.
BIDEN: Well, they have to deal with the—look, there’s institutional segregation in this country. And from the time I got involved, I started dealing with that. Redlining banks, making sure that we are in a position where—look, you talk about education. I propose that what we take is those very poor schools, the Title I schools, triple the amount of money we spend from 15 to 45 billion a year. Give every single teacher a raise, the equal raise to getting out—the $60,000 level.
This was supposed to be about “reparations.”Institutional Segregation.
I’d like Joe to tell me which legislation he worked on “dealing with that” and when it happened. I wasn’t born until the 1980s, so I clearly missed about 750 years of Joe’s time in the Senate. Good on Joe for agreeing with raising teacher pay. Kamala said that months ago. Who wouldn’t go along with pumping money into poorer schools? That is another good thing Kamala said months ago, you should endorse her.
Had Joe ever learned to shut the whole fuck up, he could have pushed the easy button and let this “common old white man knowledge” hot mess of an answer sit alone. But Joe knew he was competing for mic time, so he just had to fucking keep talking.
Number two, make sure that we bring in to help the teachers deal with the problems that come from home. The problems that come from home, we need—we have one school psychologist for every 1,500 kids in America today. It’s crazy.
Uh-huh. Keep going, Joe…
The teachers are—I’m married to a teacher. My deceased wife is a teacher. They have every problem coming to them. We have—make sure that every single child does, in fact, have 3-, 4-, and 5-year-olds go to school. School. Not daycare. School. We bring social workers into homes and parents to help them deal with how to raise their children.
I think Joe believes him fucking teachers makes him a teacher via osmosis. Possibly, you have to marry a teacher to fully benefit, but regardless, he believes in some type of legitimacy transfer from them to him.
Black Women Need Social Workers to Teach Them How to Raise Kids
It also appears that he either thinks we need to have social workers teach us to raise our kids. I am not sure why I need a social worker to help me raise my kids just because I’m black and poor. Wouldn’t the right answer be to give me money to improve the quality of life for me and my children?
It’s not… they don’t want to help. They don’t—they don’t know quite what to do. Play the radio, make sure the television—excuse me, make sure you have the record player on at night, the phono… make sure that kids hear words. A kid coming from a very poor school—a very poor background will hear 4 million words fewer spoken by the time they get there.
Where the hell did he get this shit?! I notice “Black” became “Poor” and it’s obvious he read a study back in 1865 that told him some things he will never shut up about. Look, I’m not being hyperbolic when I say if Joe becomes the nominee, his constant racism word clouds will fuck us in the ass; no lube.
So, let’s breakdown what the solutions to the current impacts of slavery on the lives of Black people are, according to Joe. One is for us to talk to our kids using 4 million more words, something on redlining that he may have done, we need to triple fund schools, pay teachers 60k, hire more school psychologists, and have social workers come to black homes to teach us how to raise our kids. Oh, and buy a record player. Why do I feel like I’m being blamed? Shamed? Humiliated?
Because I am.
This is the all-time worst reparations plan I have ever seen in my life. I reject it on its face. If Joe doesn’t know how to write a plan, he could just copy Marianne since she won’t be around much longer. And she likely lifted it from someone else in the first place.
If you’re confused by what Joe was getting at, don’t trip, I know exactly what he’s talking about, and its a shit shit shit thing. In 2007, before he was forced to drop out of the race for president, Jig and Jive Joe pontificated on why Iowa schools were so awesome compared to DC schools.
From CNN in 2007:
Explaining why schools in Iowa are performing better than those in Washington, D.C., Biden told the Post, “There’s less than one percent of the population of Iowa that is African American. There is probably less than four of five percent that are minorities. What is in Washington? So look, it goes back to what you start off with, what you’re dealing with.”
I like how he used what instead of who when he pointed out that DC is Chocolate City. Yes. He IS saying black kids bring the schools down, that’s exactly what he fucking said. “What’s in Washington?” This is some racist ass shit, y’all.
“When you have children coming from dysfunctional homes, when you have children coming from homes where there’s no books, where the mother from the time they’re born doesn’t talk to them – as opposed to the mother in Iowa who’s sitting out there and talks to them, the kid starts out with a 300 word larger vocabulary at age three. Half this education gap exists before the kid steps foot in the classroom,” the Delaware Democrat added.
Hold the fucking Mayo, Joe.
What the fuck you just say? Where the fuck does he get the idea that we don’t buy books? Also? This myth that black homes are predominately dysfunctional is a racist belief and he needs to stop spreading it. Black people, if you are voting for Joe Biden, you need to take the fucking blinders off right the fuck now. Stop telling yourselves he doesn’t mean it, or that he doesn’t know any better. If he never learns better it will be because you are constantly giving him passes on the most racist shit. Make him do better if you want him to win.
the mother from the time they’re born doesn’t talk to them
Joe believes Black Women Don’t Speak To Their Children
What he described is not the average black family or even an average dysfunctional black family. If a mother isn’t talking to or interacting with her babies from the time they are born she needs serious psychological treatment and a support system. Not a record player. Postpartum depression, in my experience with having it, is an isolating disorder, and it can cause introversion, but this is not the average black mother. I have no idea where the fuck he got this shit, but he needs to shut it the fuck up, not just now, but right now.
Notice too that he showcases the White Iowan mother as engaged, talkative with her precious child, and apparently she “sits out there” wherever there is, just like a mommy in a Norman Rockwell painting. White mothers are just inherently good, far better than we could ever be. In Joe’s pontificantions I saw no call for the Iowan mom to have social workers teach her how to raise children.
I won’t get into the many reasons the gaps exist between white and black children, the lead paint exposure, lack of universal Pre-K, or the fact that standardized tests are biased as fuck, and or how we need equitable funding for public schools nationwide.
I will leave it here for now even though there are many more passes Joe somehow gets, and since I don’t have it in me to write a book on him, I won’t be telling you about it today.
